After having Australian Silky Terriers for over
20 years and also having Maltese for around 10 years I fell in love with the Japanese Chin
breed in 2010
Our first Japanese Chin was TANNASHAR Electra (Chrissy) who was bred
by Pam Large from Victoria. Our second girl, Ch. TANNASHAR Taimani (Kara)
was also bred by Pam Large.
Neither of the girls were babies - Chrissy was 3yrs and
Kara was 9 months. We started showing both girls and Kara gained her Australian Championship in
just 4 months. Chrissy didn't take to the show ring as well as Kara and only reached half way
to her Championship.
To say this breed is a "heartbreak breed" is an understatement.
It was not until 3 years later that we bred our first litter from Chrissy sadly losing all
3 of the babies
It was another year and a half before we managed a litter from Kara, producing Ch. PONDAROZA Ichiban
Iku (Timmy) who became our first home-bred Champion. Sadly, Timmy's 2 siblings didn't make it.
We only managed to get one litter from Chrissy before she sadly went to the Rainbow Bridge
early in 2015. Sadly, that litter did not survive.
You can read all about these and our other dogs
on their individual pages, along with their pedigrees and photos of them.
